Sergeant Jason Bos spent five long years in Iraq with his K-9 partner, CiCi. The two were inseparable and did over 100 missions which included missions where they worked with the secret service!
Sadly, in 2012 Jason Bos suffered a back injury and was forced to retire. He headed back to the states, but the military still had work for CiCi to do. He had to leave his best friend behind.
Sgt. Bos missed his partner and was depressed and heartbroken because he never knew when, or if, he would ever see his best friend again. Not the sort of retirement any veteran deserves.
Even if CiCi was able to finish her work unharmed, there was no guarantee that she would be sent back to the United States, unlike now.
Bos never once forgot about Cila, but finally in 2014, it was CiCi’s turn to retire!
After Bos heard about CiCi’s retirement he began to work hard to reunite with her once again! Thanks to the aid of the American Humane Association and Mission K-9 Rescue, CiCi was flown from Germany back to the United States. The two reunited at the O’Hare International Airport.
Amazingly, when CiCi hears Sgt. Bos’ voice she instantly lights up. She remembers her old partner with no hesitation! It’s absolutely heartwarming.
Then the cameraman asks Sgt. Bos what the two plan to do now that they’re together once again.
She’s gonna be living the couch life from now on.
Sgt. Bos also said that he wants to help veterans deal with the post-deployment struggles.
It’s a truly amazing story and the video is amazing to watch. Just watching how absolutely happy the both of them are to see each other again truly warms my heart.
