Here is a story that’s sure to warm your heart. Meet Melissa, a marine, who grew up in and out of foster care because her mother was in and out of jail.
In spite of the hardships of her childhood, she is now a 21-year-old officer serving her country. Melissa has two younger brothers J.J. and Christian, but they never got to grow up together because she is a lot older than them. They rarely get to spend time together because they were always sent to different foster homes. The last time Melissa saw her brothers was 6 years ago.
When she was recently made aware that her mother is still abusing drugs, she made the decision to try anything to get full custody of her brothers.
At 21, she was worried to death that the judge will say she’s too young to care for her brothers. However, she drove the 2,000 miles all the way to Alabama from California anyway to plead before the court for legal custody of her brothers.
It was a daunting task, but luckily for Melissa, she wasn’t alone. Prank It FWD offered to pay for her gas, one month’s rent, and even food for the road trip!
Melissa gets to the courthouse and receives the much-anticipated YES from the judge. She and her brothers are so excited, but when they get home, they’re given another surprise! Prank It FWD, once again, reached out and gave them a brand new Toyota to celebrate their fresh new start!
